Taliban new Supreme Leader criticizes low quality of projects in his first Eid message
Taliban new Supreme Leader criticizes low quality of projects in his first Eid message

The new Supreme Leader of Taliban Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour has criticized the low quality of projects concluded in Afghanistan in his first Eid message.

“have not done any fundamental work in Afghanistan in the past fourteen years despite announcement of billions of dollars of assistance, i.e. any fundamental work or of long-term benefits for the Afghans! All their projects are designed for short-terms and are of low quality and spurious.”Mullah Mansour’s statement claims.

Mullah Mansour commends the work of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and pledges assistance with them but several reports have been published in the past suggesting that Taliban kidnapped and killed NGO workers.

“The services which are carried out for the well-being and prosperity of our people by self-less charity organization (NGOs) and other benevolent individuals are commendable acts. We will help in facilitation of their work.” The statement adds.

The statement further states that Taliban are advised to protect public property but in several occasions they have placed IEDs under bridges and culverts or place them on roads to aim their targets.

Mullah Mansour warns fighters to be careful about civilian casualties. However, most of the casualties of the attacks comprised of civilians.

“Moreover, if anyone in the rank of Mujahideen is careless about civilian casualties or is intentionally involved or misbehave with prisoners contrary to Sharia, we will conduct a comprehensive interrogation in this regard and punish him in the light of Sharia.” the statement states.

Mullah Mansour stresses on religious and modern education and instructs fighters to pave way for it.

“Religious and modern educations are a great and urgent need of the new generation of our country. I instruct Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate to pave the way for religious and modern educations in areas of their administration and render them assistance.” he adds in the statement.

Taliban Supreme Leader gives a conditional end to the war. He says that it is possible to end war but all military and security treaties need to be revoked and foreign forces should leave Afghanistan.
